Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

This is a little talked about novel from C.S. Lewis that I believe is as thought provoking as his other books. It is the retelling of the Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche. However, in C.S. Lewis fashion, there is much more than a change of setting and cast of characters. It is rich in allegory in it’s presentation on the character of love itself. Love, even when given with the best of intentions, can prove to be destructive when it serves our selfish desires. While I could literally write volumes on this novel, I am interested to know what others think of it.
