I’ve heard a few people say they love The Kite Runner. Has anyone read it and what did they think about it?

Dorothy Gilman

I found Dorothy Gilman’s Mrs. Polifax novels [the first being The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax a fun addition to the Agatha Christie-type novels. Mrs. Pollifax is a plucky mature woman who can’t seem to help herself from getting involved in adventure and intrigue.

I found nothing offensive about her book - no foul language or morally devient material. Good clean fun.

If you looking for something profound and deeply significant, she is not the author for you. However, if you want something fun to read she’s your woman.

June 07 Book Club Meeting

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

We enjoyed the cool summer evening while discussing The Redemption of Sarah Cain. We are going to spend the summer reading more books by some of our favorite authors we’ve read this past year and discover some new ones as well.

Look for the new book club selection in August in preparation for our next meeting: tenatively scheduled for the second Tuesday in September.

We discussed choosing books as a group so that we can perhaps branch out a little in our book selection and feel free to talk more candidly about the books we read as a group. [categorize these posts under ‘group book suggestions’] A good place to start is checking out the titles under ‘LIBRARY RESOURCES.’

Also, PLEASE let us know what books you have read or are reading now so that those of us who have the time can read them too. [categorize these posts under ‘FAVS’]

Let’s make this a fun, informative resource for all of us who love to read good books.
